The Course has a tradition of fast and firm greens with uncompromising playing conditions and its bayside setting is reminiscent of the historic links in Scotland and Ireland. Now is your opportunity to walk in the footsteps of champions on the legendary golf course named the #1 Public/Daily Fee golf Course in the state of New Jersey. Steeped in history and tradition, the Atlantic City Country Club was the birthplace of The PGA Senior Tour and hosted the PGA Inaugural Seniors Tournament in 1980 won by Don January. It has also been the site of several other major events including the 1901 USGA Amateur and the USGA Women’s Opens in 1948, 1965, and 1975 – won by “Babe” Zaharias, Carol Mann and Sandra Palmer.

About the Charity

Angel Flight East is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of volunteer pilots, ground volunteers and a small staff dedicated to serving the community.

"The mission of Angel Flight East is to provide free air transportation to qualified patients and their families by arranging flights to distant medical facilities, delivering supplies to disaster areas, and reuniting families during desperate times."

We provide free air transportation for seriously ill patients who need to get to treatment far from home. Our pilots fly them to the medical facilities needed for their evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of their medical conditions free of charge.

Founded in 1992, in response to community needs after Hurricane Andrew, local pilots formed Angel Flight East as a non profit. We flew 17 missions during that first year and have continued to grow the service each year. With more than 425 volunteer pilots, based in 22 states, over 750 missions were coordinated last year.

MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACK BREAKFAST SEMINAR

"Money Matters: The Five Numbers Winning Garden Centers Use (and Still Have a Life)"

Speaker: Ian Baldwin

Date: Monday, September 17, 2018

Reserve your seat by Sept. 5 - REGISTER TODAY!

Time:  8:00am – 9:00am
Place: Atlantic City Convention Center, Fourth Floor, Room 411

Light breakfast served in pre-function area of Room 411 starting at 7:15 AM

Key Points:

Ian will outline the five key numbers (well, five and a half) that he sees winning garden retailers using day in, day out to "beat the street" while still having fun!"

Now that most garden and home retailers have a POS system, data can be available every minute on every aspect of the company, from buying strategies to performance reviews. But if anything, today's retailers have less office time, not more(!) to actually use all this data. Unless you are going to invest in extra staff to track and analyze all the data, it just puts more work on the same people.

So how do owners and managers decide which data points matter most?

  • Which numbers are essential to track and use for the best business decisions while still running a team and serving customers?
  • Which data is "interesting" but not critical?
  • Which metrics are just for a rainy day (or a numbers nerd)?

(Attendees can bring along their key numbers to compare with Ians!")

About the Speaker: Retail business consultant Ian Baldwin was born in England and has worked in the nursery industry since he was 16, holding a BSC in Horticulture and an MBA from England. He has lived in California since 1986 and is an American citizen.

For over 30 years Ian has consulted for the best L&G companies in N. America and Europe on store-planning, merchandising, “retail detail”, team and business leadership and increasingly, financial success. Ian is a trained trainer and facilitator, has been an expert witness, a “Strategic Retreat” leader and a market analyst.

Through his national network groups of owners and managers, Ian has access to POS data and trends in the garden retail and hardware channels. For the last six years Ian has been asked by the National Gardening Association to analyze their “National Gardening Survey”, giving him a unique insight into the consumers’ attitudes and shopping behavior in the L&G industry.

Ian is a featured speaker at many L&G meetings. His business management program “The Garden Center University” (www.gardencenteruniversity.com) has set the standard for future training in the business of the retail garden business.
